About

Simon Banville

Illustrateur / Cartoonist

Illustrator, author, and cartoonist, Simon Banville has been working in comics and illustration for over 20 years, blending humor and thoughtful storytelling in his creations.

His series Élora, published notably in Les Débrouillards, tells the story of a curious young girl exploring the world alongside her bird friends. Through this narrative, he delves into themes such as childhood, cultural transmission, technological evolution, and social dynamics, all while maintaining an accessible and poetic approach.

In parallel, his caricatures, featured in L’Aut’journal and the Syndicat de Champlain journal, provide a sharp and satirical take on current events.

His work is also included in several recent publications from ERPI educational editions. As a graphic facilitator, he collaborates with companies such as April Superflo and JMN Entrepreneur Électricien, as well as with the Conseil régional de l’environnement Chaudière-Appalaches (CRECA) and various unions. Through his illustrations, he clarifies complex concepts and makes them accessible with an effective and engaging visual approach.

He has also published four comic book albums with his Asymptote series at Éditions du Renouveau Québécois, Éditions 400 Coups, and Éditions Vent d’Ouest. He is currently working on a fifth comic strip album.
